Why buy both an OES and a C/S analyzer?

OES is fast enough for production control and reads the full element set; combustion C/S analysis gives the reference carbon and sulfur values many customers and standards require. Steel plants commonly run both, as this one does.

What does the CS996 add over the CS995?

A wider range (C 0.0001-10%, S 0.0001-2%), a 2.5 kW furnace and expandable low-carbon / high-sulfur cells. The CS995 is the bench-type unit for narrower ranges.
